Monica Smiley
Executive Director
Monica Smiley is the Executive Director of Tualatin Riverkeepers. Monica has been on staff at TRK since 2003, managing vounteer stewardship programs. Monica holds a degree in Liberal Arts from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, where her focus of study was environmental policy and multicultural education.
Monica’s role with the Riverkeepers is primarily organizational and fund development. She is passionate about the watershed-based approach to environmental protection and would like to encourage everyone to get involved to protect and restore their home.

Brian Wegener
Watershed Watch Coordinator
Brian Wegener is the Watershed Watch Coordinator for Tualatin Riverkeepers. Brian has been active in the Tualatin Watershed for many years, and has developed an expertise on wetland permits, agricultural water quality plans, and municipal stormwater permits. Brian has MS and BS degrees from Portland State University in Mathematics. Prior to joining Tualatin Riverkeepers' staff, Brian worked for 9 years in research and regulation with PacifiCorp and as a math and science teacher for 5 years.

Vicki Julis
Program Manager
Vicki is currently managing the office and the Trips & Tours program. Vicki holds a MS in Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies from Grinnell College in Iowa. Vicki has worked on regional GIS conservation planning, wildlife management and endangered species research, and community-based conservation. Since moving to Portland in 2006, Vicki has adapted nicely to the Oregonian lifestyle – enjoying good coffee and the great outdoors.

Lori Kruse
Youth Education Coordinator
Lori will serve an 11 month AmeriCorps term of service through the Northwest Service Academy. She will coordinate TRK’s Nature Awareness programs during the 2008-2009 season.
In 2007, Lori earned a B.S. in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in Natural Resources and a minor in Environmental Education from the University of Nebraska. She has extensive experience as an educator and naturalist. Lori is currently employed with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department as a Stormwater Researcher and Educator.
