This is the second in a two part series for those who wish to become Restoration Crew Leaders with Tualatin Riverkeepers!
The first session covers the Crew Leader manual, basic tools and common species, and a brief overview of successful leadership techniques. This session is an in the field experience with invasive removal, native planting, and tool techniques. It will also go over how to greet a group and how to guide them through a project regardless of their background in restoration.
These techniques are applicable to many situations and can even be useful for management of your own property! We will work with shears, loppers, hand rakes, weed wrenches, and more.
Once trained, Restoration Crew Leaders will shadow a project with one of TRK's restoration partners. Then they will be able to lead projects as they feel comfortable! You will likely be placed with groups of 10-15 volunteers at a time.
